Fabrica/Brighton Festival Open Call

13th Dec 2019

Fabrica seeks proposals for an artist commission for a Fabrica and Brighton Festival 2020 exhibition split across two sites in Brighton & Hove.

These sites are: Fabrica, a contemporary art gallery in the city centre and an outdoor site in Moulsecoomb. The work will be temporary and will be exhibited at Fabrica April-May, as part of Brighton Festival and during May in Moulsecoomb.

The opportunity is open to artists, designers and makers who have a track record of working at scale and responding to site and ideally in responding to communities.

Conceptually the art work must be powerful enough to ‘connect’ two separate and very different locations: Fabrica gallery and an outdoor location in Moulsecoomb. Both these locations are in the city of Brighton & Hove just a few miles apart.

There must be a physical outcome at each site, ie a sculpture, time-based installation or functional construction, which must be durable for the period of its exhibition. This may incorporate a range of media.

Deadline: 12 noon, Monday 6 January 2020.
