The Art of Good Health report

15th Jan 2019

Recently, Alistair Hill, Brighton and Hove City Council’s Director of Public Health, has produced The Art of Good Health, a report that focuses on the contribution that the arts make to the health of the city’s residents. In his foreword he reflects on the question “should we look closer at the role of arts in health?”:

The arts help us to get active, get involved and strengthen our communities. Whoever we are, wherever we live and whatever age we are, the arts can help to provide meaning to our lives, which in turn helps us become more resilient to threats to our health and wellbeing.

Two of Fabrica’s community focused projects, Men in Sheds and Draw for Life, are given as case studies in the report, highlighting how important creativity is in assisting various health-related challenges.
