The Lightbox works to increase accessibility

2nd Apr 2019

In honour of today being both World Autism Awareness Day and part of World Autism Awareness Week we thought we would share with you the Accessibility Guide for Visitors on the Autism Spectrum that The Lightbox gallery and museum in Woking compiled for Disabled Access Day last month. The comprehensive guide includes materials to help visualise the building, spaces and people so visitors know what to expect and feel prepared before they arrive. The sensory maps will help to plan which areas of the building to visit, and highlight which areas visitors might wish to avoid according to their personal requirements and preferences in relation to noise, smell or temperature.

You can read more about their accessibility in the visitor information page, and in this blog post ‘Disabled Access Day 2019: Feeling Confident and Comfortable‘.
