Thinking through…. In celebration of the Bauhaus 100th anniversary
13th May 2019
‘Thinking through…’ is a public programme of events that will take place at De La Warr Pavilion throughout the summer exploring how we learn as individuals, and what we might be able to learn from each other.
‘Thinking through…’ will act as a summer school in two parts: one convened with staff members from across DLWP’s departments, and the second organised and delivered by tutors, researchers and students from UCL (University College London). The programme will provide opportunities to staff and public to work collaboratively to learn new skills, and to rethink the value of everyday learning to our physical, social and emotional wellbeing.
Lauren Godfrey’s exhibition Group Hat has reimagined the First Floor Gallery, creating a space for conversation, reading and play. 2019 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus School in Germany; this exhibition and programme celebrate modernist principles of knowledge-sharing and experimentation, and continues the De La Warr Pavilion’s importance as a space for learning and wellbeing for all.
The programme will unfold and evolve through the summer as a series of workshops, talks, events and screenings, open to the public on a pay-what-you-can basis.
Group Hat opens at DLWP on 15 June.
