CVAN awarded funding from Art Fund

6th Sep 2023

CVAN has been awarded £50,000 from @artfund… towards the next phase of the Fair and Equitable programme. This funding is part of a larger fundraising strategy for a large-scale national programme covering the nine regions CVAN operates in England.

‘Fostering Equity in the Visual Arts’ is a two-year professional development programme delivered across the nine CVAN regions in England. The programme has been created in response to the findings of the pilot year of CVAN’s five-year Fair + Equitable programme.

It will support artists and arts workers from marginalised communities to develop skills in leadership and governance via training and mentoring, as well as offer them access to meaningful and supportive networking opportunities and partnerships.

The programme will also deliver a development programme that supports arts organisations to improve their knowledge and understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion issues in the workforce. The two-year programme will strengthen the CVAN network’s ability to impact the visual arts workforce, in line with Art Fund’s primary strategic focus of diversifying the workforce.

Art Fund is the national fundraising charity for art. It provides millions of pounds every year to help museums to acquire and share works of art across the UK, further the professional development of their curators, and inspire more people to visit and enjoy their public programmes.
