Outside In to provide more artist support thanks to grant

A grant of £60,000 has been secured by Outside In. The funds, from the Garfield Weston Foundation will play a vital role as the organisation works to expand its pioneering work, which provides a platform for artists who face significant barriers to the art world due to disability, health, social isolation or circumstance.

Director and founder Marc Steene said:

Outside In is working in a time of austerity and in the context of drastic cuts in social care and cultural provision, the need to sustain and support those artists and individuals who are vulnerable and excluded in society at a regional and national level has never been more important.

Grants such as this allow Outside In to further its reach and come at a key time as, during the next four years, the charity will be working to secure partnerships with galleries or museums across the UK to act as key regional hubs providing the charity’s life-changing programmes.

This work will enable artists and audiences to not only engage with Outside In and the partner organisation but also the wider art world.
