Project Art Works awarded funding from Paul Hamlyn Foundation
8th May 2018
Project Art Works are delighted to announce that they have been awarded funding from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
At a time when social care services and funding are subject to substantial cuts across the UK, support of this nature provides positive affirmation of a commitment to vulnerable people. It also validates the programmes being delivered by Project Art Works and their partners that provide purposeful and creative environments for people who have complex support needs.
The funding supports two projects:
- In 2019 the EXPLORERS project culminates in a 12 month programme of exhibitions with partners from across the UK and Sydney, Australia. Project Art Works is working in partnership with organisations through art and conversation including awareness raising and encounter workshops, commissions, exhibitions and seminars, in collaboration with people who have complex needs and those who support them. EXPLORERS – Illuminating the Wilderness (funded by Arts Council England’s Ambition for Excellence programme).
- From 2020, funding will ensure the legacy of EXPLORERS is developed by extending their work through a proposed new, public facing gallery in Hastings. This will be an innovative showcase of work by neurodiverse artist and makers, realised in partnership with Heart of Hastings/Community Land Trust.
