The Inventors summer programme at Aspex
3rd Jul 2018
Portsmouth’s leading contemporary art gallery Aspex have teamed up with creative making space The Makers Guild to present The Inventors – a summer programme of events for people of all ages and abilities.
The project will see three artists commissioned to act as inventors, working with the people of Portsmouth to explore new ways of making through a series of workshops, exhibitions and artist residencies.
These events will take place across the city, from Gunwharf Quays to Buckland Activity Playground and will culminate at Victorious Festival in August 2018.
The Inventors is inspired by Aspex’s Summer exhibition Push & Pull from the artist Will Cruickshank, who creates work through the use of hand-made machines and jigs.

The Inventors is supported by Building IS, Conquest Kitchens, Gunwharf Quays, the University of Portsmouth’s Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries and Seadog Print Studio.
