Three network members shortlisted for the Fantastic for Families Awards
14th Jan 2019
We are delighted to share that CVAN South East network members MK Gallery, Fabrica and The Lightbox have all been selected for Family Arts Campaigns’ Fantastic For Families Awards. The awards celebrate family-led arts and cultural organisations across the UK, with the awards ceremony taking place on 11 February in Liverpool.
MK Gallery’s Art and Us, a programme for families with children with complex needs, has been shortlisted in the category of Best Family Event. Held every Sunday, and funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Milton Keynes Community Foundation, Art and Us has provided stimulating, creative and fun art activities for families with children over 5 with complex needs since it launched in May 2018.
Anthony Spira, Director at MK Gallery said:
It’s been a real privilege for MK Gallery to have been able to launch and run Art and Us in collaboration with our friends at Project Art Works. The shortlisting recognises the work put in by our learning team to deliver such engaging and creative programmes for local families. I’d like to thank the funders of the programme, the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and the MK Community Foundation for their incredible support in making the programme a reality.
Both Fabrica in Brighton and The Lightbox in Woking have been shortlisted for the Best Age-Friendly Welcome Award. This nomination recognises the outstanding provision for older family members these organisations offer, including the staff welcome, communication, the venue, and its facilities in accommodating the needs of older people.
You can also vote for these organisations as your favourite family friendly, plus many more from our network, by casting your vote for the Audience Choice Award.
